With about 100 colors available, CIM offers superb hand pulled glass for lampworking.Their colors are very consistent, and they are careful to note batches with color variations as "Uniques." CIM has strict quality control to assure color consistency and quality rods that are 4-7mm in diameter. This quality control guarantees that CIM rods are free from irregularities, stones, bumps, dust, scratches, and bubbles.
The line also has some lovely translucent "moonstone" or "egg white" glasses - most notable the Halong Bay, the Cirrus, and the Peacock Green. CIM also produces a beautiful range of pinks that has endeared them to lampworkers everywhere.
The clear comes with each piece individually wrapped to prevent scratching.
Creation is Messy produces Messy Color™ at a private family-owned factory in China which produces lampworked and fused products for export to Europe, Japan, and the U.S.A. The factory has produced their own rods for about 20 years for in-house production to make swizzle sticks, animals, flowers, holiday ornaments, and the like. They have traditionally worked in the range of a 96 coefficient of expansion.
In 2006, Creation is Messy formed a partnership with them to bring new colors to the 104 palette by adjusting the compatibility of their glass.
