Moretti/Effetre is one of the most commonly used types of glass for lampworking. The real name of Moretti glass is actually Effetre. However, it was known for so long as Moretti that most people still refer to the glass as Moretti.

Manufactured in Mulano Italy, Effetre soft glass rods are usually sold by the pound (6 to 8 rods to the pound). They are 39-40" long and 5 to 6 mm thick, although most sellers cut these long rods down to 13-15". Effetre glass rods are available in well over 100 colors categorized within six color palates: transparents, opaques, pastels, alabasters, opaline, filigree, and special.

Effetre stringers are available in a variety of colors, 2-3mm in diameter, and about 13” in length.

Effetre is also available in a variety of frits and powders.
