Vetrofond is located across the lagoon from Venice on the main land in a suburb of Mestre, which is the main industrial port of the area. All of Vetrofonds colors are compatible with other 104 COE glasses.
Vetrofond originally produced contemporary glass lampshades, but in the 1980's they branched out into making glass rods, and they have now increased their production of plain rods to include "hand-pulled" glass. These new hand-pulled colors include pastels, hot colors, and an expanded palette of transparents. Even though their palette is still smaller than that of Effetre, it has grown immensely, and they produce some "odd colors" which are highly coveted by lampworkers throughout the world.
Vetrofond rods are 13" long and 5-6mm in diameter.
